Widowmaker Jan6 2017
I have already posted my story but was playing around and put it in poem....Enjoy and best wishes and prayers to all my fellow survivors. It was a cold snowy Friday, a cold winters day. I started my truck soon would be on my way.
I ran back in the house to grab my daytimer and phone, I felt a pain in my chest, who would have known,
Coffee and toast was breakfast that day, Indigestion was likely I would have to say.
I went in my cupboard and downed a zantac, I soon came to realize I was having a heart attack.
My hair was all sweaty, the pain now intense,it was harder and harder to use common sense.
I took 2 asprin and got to my truck, I drove to the hospital all I needed was luck,
I stood in the lineup in total distress, I was noticed by a nurse that saw I was a mess.
She wheeled me in for a quick EKG, There was a broadcast in emergency, they were talking about me.
We rolled in to Trama, unit number one. It was starting to feel like I might be done.
The doctor came in and explained what went on, I had a blockage in an artery that needed to be gone
I was transfered to a cardiac unit 3 miles away, It was the best in the area that we have today.
Down a long hallway and in to the Cath Lab, they inserted a catheter with a wipe and a stab,
Quickly inflated a balloon inside of my placque ,Inserted a stent and out the door I soon went,
Back to the hospital where I first arrived, Bedrest and medications were all soon prescribed.
I realized that day,as I made it through alive, my lifestyle must be different if I am to survive.
I am starting in re-hab towards the end of next week, I start on a treadmill then learn about eats.
After 12 weeks its off to the gym, I hope I dont get discouraged still its where ill begin.
