My son and CHD

We learned at 16 weeks pregnant something was wrong with my son's heart.  As we went through the pregnancy, we met with several cardiologist and met with two hospitals to see which would be the right fit for us.  We chose Hopkins and have been very pleased with my son's treatment.  My son was born with dextrocardia, transposition of great arteries, coarctation of aorta, VSD, and ASD.  He had COA surgery at 3 days old and his arterial switch with closure of ASD and VSD at 10 days old.  He was released from hospital at 21 days old.  At 4 months old we noticed his CoA was renarrowing and had angioplasty to open it up.  At 8 months old the renarrowing started again but we played the waiting game.  At 1 year old, it was decided he needed to have another angioplasty but it could wait until the summer. At 13 almost 14 months, he had another heart cath where he had a stent placed in his left pulmonary artery.  He was not able to have his aorta ballooned because they noticed a bump, possible aneurysm.  It was decided he would have another surgery at 15 months.  At his 2 year checkup, we were told we did not need to come back for a year.  We are waiting to see what his 3 year old appt tells us.
May God bless your son. Wish him a very healthy life.
