Lifestyle change has improved my condition
Hello, I was diagnosed with dilated cardiomyopathy at age 12. I will be 50 in November. In 2017, I was also diagnosed with afib. In 2017, I had a double ablation for afib, and pvc’s. The ablation has helped with pvc’s , but I continued to have afib episodes. 4 months later after my ablation, they decided to put in an icd. I have gotten shocked many times due to afib.in 2019, my ep doctor suggested a heart transplant. I begged him to change my medication to multaq. I decided try a lifestyle change, I started walking 1 mile every day, and do a low carb/low fat diet. Within 1 month, I had increased my ejection fraction from 10% to 41%. I’m now stage 1 chf. Never give up hope.
