Hemorrhagic Stroke - Unconscious, EVT, Ventilator

Story image

My sister had a hemorrhagic stroke and has been in the ICU for 13 days so far.  The stroke occurred in her left parietal lobe. The cause of stroke is Moyamoya (disease that causes blockage of the carotid arteries).  The bleed occurred on the first day and since then there has been no new blood.  The doctors inserted EVT drain to reduce pressure on the brain and do draining. She is on a ventilator to assist with breathing and is unconscience.  Her condition is critical. I would like to know if you have had a similar serious experience.  About how long does it take to "wake up" and what is the path forward after your stroke.  I know it all varies, but would like to hear your stories to provide me hope.  Thanks so much!
