Heart attack @ 46 and scared

Hi, I'm a 46 years old male that was completely healthy until one my chest start hurting and my life seem it has change forever. I am afraid because I don't know what to expect. I now have one stent on an artery near my heart and sleuth of meds that must take everyday for the next year. I'm having a hard time coping and anxiety is creeping in. PLease is there anyone in this site that can offer me any advice as to what to expect? I've only been out of the hospital for a day and feel completely alone in this world.

Hi Knixxx1, My name is Debbie and I was 45 when I had to undergo triple bypass surgery, I know there are alot of anxiety and depression that can start, but let me tell you. Now is the time to realize you have been given a second chance and get yourself healthy. I worked in a major Level One Trauma ER, I was short of breath for a few days and then was basically told I was checking in by my peers. I had a stress test and then had a stemi on the stress test table. Triple by pass 24 hours later. My heart arteries were 95,90,75% Blocked. Feel free to message me and we can talk. I am at work right now so I will be home in a little while and hoping to hear back from you. Debbie

    EricTy,
Knixxx you should ask your doctor about cardiac rehab. You need to get your confidence back. It's a safe environment where you can work out and build your strength. They also have classes on how to eat heart healthy. You have a second chance and you can still enjoy life just as much as anyone else. You just need to find out how comfortable you are pushing your body.
