Away from home and had a heart attack

Story image

Hi, just a question. I had a heart attack in Florida, had 3 stents put in. I came home to N J and found a cardiologist.  When I went to him he asked me to tell him the whole story from the beginning.  The nurse gave me a ekg, weighed me. Then I was told to come back in a month. Is that normal?  Sorry wrong picture.

    Djwel,

    Donata,

In your case, pretty much.  I would recommend that you go to cardiac rehab if you haven't already; your cardiologist can schedule that for you.  I had HA in Oct 2019, with triple bypass surgery.  I found that I needed to take action on my own behalf.  If you have a ***, ask them to be an advocate with your cardiologist.

I wish you well, and will be praying for your recovery

    EMON1,

I guess I would say it’s not ‘unusual’, provided they have you on a regiment of medications, (usually a beta blocker/anti platelet/statin/etc). Of course if you have problems or side effects you want to be in touch sooner. Early on, taking meds and resting is the most important, sometimes ‘a little’ walking, if possible, (don’t expect too much). Lots of changes ahead.

    Good luck!
