Thoracic Aneurysm newbie

Hello all. I'm a 57yo male and last year I was diagnosed with a 4.75cm Thoracic Ascending Aneurysm. It took me a while to figure out what that was lol! :-D Heart problems run in my family, unfortunately.... I was put on Metoprolol to help with my blood pressure spikes. I normally have low blood pressure but lately it has been spiking in the afternoon to around 145/97 and been having chest pains in center of my chest. I hope it's not related. Should I be worried?

Good afternoon Dizzyagain, I want to encourage you to check in with your doctor about these chest pains and elevated blood pressure. It is always safest and best to let your doctor evaluate you. Thank you for coming to us and sharing this concern and once you have heard from your doctor please let us know how you are doing. Best Katie

Well I went to my family doctor yesterday. He wanted me to have another EKG. After it was done he compared it to one I had a few years ago. Apparently it was abnormal. A T-wave that was once normal is now inverted. He called my cardiologist and he wants me to have another stress test. I get that done on the 19th. I will post the results when I get them back. I hope I have all of this done before my Cancun vacation at the end of the month. Cheers all

I went in for my stress test on Monday. Dr. said everything was ok. Said the chest pains were not heart related. Today I notice that I had red circles on my chest where the electrodes were attached for my stress test. Last year after I was in the hospital, I noticed when I was tan during the summer, I had white circles where the electrodes were attached. Is that normal?

    Hello dizzyagain,

i just joined this web site in hopes of finding some support for my dad who was recently diagnosed with aortic aneurysm. Of course, he's been stressed about it ever since the doctors told him that it's at a 4.5 mg and that if got to 5., it could burst and he would die. (Not very good bedside manners from these doctors). So now he's somewhat stressed about it since they won't do surgery at this point due to the size of it; has to be closer to a 5 mg; my dads thing is "why wait"... hopefully I get some sort of support soon.
