From the eye- Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA)
Two weeks ago I had never heard of Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). However one night when texting with my sisters, I lost vision in my right eye. It was as if a curtain was rising and the experience lasted for a few minutes. I thought the problem was simply vision related.
I wasted time and went the next day to the Ophthalmologist who recommend I get with my primary for a cardio work up. The only thing she mentioned was that if it happened again I should go to the emergency room. I still didn't get the severity and didn't actually go to the emergency room until a doctor recommended it would be the faster route vs my gp. I had the full work up: CT scan, MRI, 24 hour heart monitor, heart and neck ultrasound ( not sure of medical terms), and more blood drawn than I can count.
They didn't find anything, which to me is so frustrating. I felt like if they had it would be this tangible problem to solve.
I'm still trying to come to terms with all of this.
