Stroke 11/20 During Carotid Stenting 65yo

I guess I was one of the unlucky 2% to have a complcation (Right side stroke )during carotid stent procedure. Good news is 39 days later my brain has rewired itself.. From speech, and non movement with leg and arm. I still have memory loss issues, brain fog and damage to my right eye ( I see a gray orb) I am also very emmotional and have been getting frustrated and angry very easy..  I also get confused when going into a supermarket.. I was in the hospital so I got a TPA with in 2 hours.  After the TPA i got worse there was no bleed.  After reading about having TPA while I was already on 800mg plavix and two aspriln not sure why they did it. it could have killed me or cuased a bleed. how ever it didn't that I was lucky on..

    Hello, fellow survivor!

Thanks for sharing your story. A lot of of definitely relate to memory loss, and the emotions. I’m on the flip side, where I have no emotions most of the time and don’t care about things the way I used to. Regardless, it sure is frustrating! I hope things continue to improve for you, and that 2019 is brighter and healthier!
