Someone to speak with

I had a stroke when i was 22 years old. I went to law school 10 months after my stroke. Now I am a practicing attorney, and i am just looking for someone to talk to about dealing with this.

Hi...welcome to the support network. There are many people in this network who can probably help you with your concerns. One thing that might be helpful would be to explain a little further about what issue(s) your stroke has left you with whether they be physical or emotional concerns in the aftermath of your stroke. Unfortunately, there are no cookie cutter answers with anyone who has suffered a stroke. In my own case, I had a TIA a year ago, but the stroke related physical symptoms cleared up in a few days. Then last fall I had amuch more serious stroke which has left me with CPSP (central post stroke pain) which has become increasing worse over the past few months. Everyone on here has their own story, some similar, some entirely different. So it might be helpful to explain a little further what you are dealing with and I am sure you will find others on here who will be able to relate to your own story. Good luck!

Good morning, I am so sorry that you had to experience a stroke, and at the same time congratulations on becoming a lawyer. I can share the information we have on life after stroke.  You might also find resources on Stroke.org that are of assistance. Is there one area or several areas of recovery that you are finding the most challenging? I am happy to help research information for you if that is of assistance.

Thank you for coming to the Support Network and sharing your story with us.

I look forward to getting to know you more.

    Best Katie

    Hi Jason,

Thanks for reaching out. That alone is a big step in the right direction!

As badlands commented, can you share what issues you are dealing with? I know we'd all love to help however we can. :-)

    Be well,

    Korrina

Welcome! Congratulations on your achievement. Like most of the people on this site, I also suffered a stroke. What types of tasks have given you the greatest challenges? What do you find fairly easy? Every stroke is different and so is every recovery. Tell us more about what you had to overcome to take such a monumental step. Please fill us in! Great hearing from you.

Hi Jason.  I am a two-tme stroke survivor and currently working on my doctorate.  How are you doing? What do you need to talk about?
