Common but Uncommon eye stroke.
I suffered an eyestroke last year in May. It has been a wild journey. I had just applied for SSDI for my heart diesease and diabetes. Went to bed and the next day, never noticed anything unusual, except something was wrong with my left eye. When to hospital the next day, and they put me in the hopsital. I was without insurance and could get my Coumadin(warafarin). I was without my blood thinner for several weeks.
What happened intially, after the doctor told me I had suffered a stroke, then explained it was an eyestoke. I got home after getting over the bridge therapy to get back on warafarin(Coumadin), I went on the computer and did some research. It is common for those who are on blood thinners and those who are type 2 diabetes, but not common in the number of the people who suffer the condition. I was lucky the clot stopped behind the left eye.
Been over a year now and vision is still too blurry to read but can see light. May not get all of the sight back. I am on SSDI and living very comfortable, alone, no kids. So I am lucky to still be here. Just had to share my story.

I am sorry for your having to experience this. I can share this article Too few with stroke of the eye are treated to reduce future stroke. I hope this helps. Katie
