I was wondering if anyone had any information on or about service dogs. I have a lab and vizsla mix puppy who seems to very intuned with me and seems to know when I'm going to have episodes with the blacking out and when my heart goes out of rhythm. I would love to get him trained as my service dog any suggestions? Any programs that would help train or help cover costs of certification?

Good morning, This is such an interesting topic! One of my daughters has a health issue and several years ago we looked into getting a service dog for her, however it was cost prohibitive. A quick google search found this site Service Dog Certifications you might be able to talk with someone here and gain more information. You might also check with some of the vets and kennel clubs in your area. They might have suggestions for you as well.
Plus, it is posisble some of our members have suggestions as well.
Please let us know what you find out about this, best Katie

Thank you for the link. I know it is expensive. I was just wondering if they had programs that help cover the cost. I get it is alot of work and training. But more than likely 9/10 people needing a service dog is living on a fixed income that is low.. maybe if I ever become rich I can set up a program to help cover the costs of service dogs, / animals. I know my grandpa had one it was 12,000$ .....

The price I was quoted was $15 to $20 k for a trained dog. I wish the best of luck in managing this. Best Katie
