Do Not Lose Heart

Good evening heart warriors❣️ I’m hopeful this post finds everyone healthy and safe as most of us continue our stay at home orders across various quadrants of our country during this pandemic. As many of us have by now established new routines from home schooling our children, caring for parents, creating make shift work from home offices to finding ways to relieve the stress that has come along with life changing in a heartbeat, I am reminded of my recovery as a heart patient. To adapt and overcome the curve ball life suddenly threw at me when I was told I needed to have open heart surgery.  Much of the stress associated with my journey was the fear of the unknown. From the what if’s to the why Me’s that ran through my mind and created a vortex of fear, worry and anxiety much like CV-19 is spreading among us. As I reflect upon my journey, one of the many things I am reminded of in handling the speed bumps in the road to recovery is to never give up hope.

I share with you a breathtaking picture my sister sent to me this morning that brought me back to my resolve during my heart journey. That is NEVER GIVE UP, keep on fighting, one heartbeat at a time. Folks, we are no doubt sailing in uncharted waters as we navigate through this crisis. We must however, not lose heart. We are all in this together and we WILL get through this, one heartbeat at a time. ❤️

Keep on fighting through these long days and nights and don’t lose heart. CV-19 will have touched us all on one level or another, let it make us stronger and more resilient than ever before.

With heart,

Ambassador C

Wonderful words of encouragement Christine and all of us can benefit from the reminder that hope springs eternal. This personal, economic and societal disruption is painful to so many and our support of one another is essential to the outcome we will experience on the other side of this. Thanks for your kind thoughts and beautiful picture. We can find "heart" in so many places in our lives and world. My best to you and your family and our larger national community as we navigate the storm.
