Shortness of Breath
Hi All! I haven't posted in quite a while. Life has been pretty good since my ICD implant in August, and continued Cardio therapy. My EF has been steadily rising... all good. But I've noticed that I still get short of breath quite easily. Mainly doing regular things, like tying my shoes... I have to pause quite a bit to breathe... feels like I ran a mile! It's weird, because I can go a couple miles on the bike or treadmill, and although I am breathing harder while doing these exercises, it's not as hard as walking up a flight of stairs or bending over to stick a plug in a socket (which I have my wife do now because I get so winded.
Can anyone relate to what I'm describing? My cardiologist is baffled, and has ordered a new echo, a chest X-ray, and another stress test. I assumed that if the EF came up, that meant that the heart was getting stronger?
