ICD Implant surgery - So far so good!
Just an update on my ICD implant surgery. It's been 2 weeks since the procedure, and everything is going well. It was certainly sore for the first week or so, but the pain has since tapered off considerably. While it is very strange to have this thing in my chest, I don't really notice it unless I actually touch the area, or look at it in the mirror, as it is visible under the skin. It's about the size of a very small phone! I do feel it "pacing" my heart daily — it pulses, which is a little nerve-wracking. I guess I will get used to that. Not sure if it's supposed to be that active or not. I went to see the cardiologist and he said it is working as it should be, but he did turn it down a notch. All in all, I am glad I had the procedure. It just adds a bit of insurance in my life.

I'm sure that will take some time to get used to! I'm glad to hear you are happy with the procedure and are doing well. :)

Be very thankful you have the pacemaker/defib. I have my pm/defib since 2005 and it has shocked me a total of 17 times saving my life each time. Even though the shocks hurt like hell each time I was shocked, it could have been much worse had I not had the defib.
I wish you nothing but the very best of luck ! Take care.
