Hi, all,

Are there any members here who have been diagnosed with Heart Failure with preserved Ejection Fraction (HFpEF)?

After seeking a second opinion from another cardiologist, I was diagnosed with HFpEF and I’m on spironolactone and Lasix to keep the fluid load off my heart, I’m walking more, and trying to watch my sodium intake. I also recently had a very candid discussion with my electrophysiologist recently about HFpEF.

However, the cardiologist I had been seeing kept insisting that my weight gain of 10+ pounds last fall was just me, in his own words, “getting fat and old.” And that I needed to stop eating junk food, which I don’t.

Any insights as to your experiences with HFpEF?

Hi.  I was recently diagnosed and still learning about the condition.  I look forward to following your story.

Good morning! I am so sorry that you are both having to manage this! I can share the information we have on  HFpEF  and information on how to live with advanced heart failure for you. If I can research anything else, please let me know. And always know that we are here for you. Best Katie
