45 days post MI No Joy - Nuke Stress Test Next Month

Echo today showed no improvement in EF post stent placement.  I walked 167 miles on a 3% incline with 100 BPM as low end of acceptable range.  Should I fear death during the nuke stress test?

I am so sorry that there has not been any improvement. Does your doctor have any concerns about the stress test? Thanks Katie

    Good morning,

One thing to know about the "Nuclear Stress Test" is that it is not as stressful on your heart.

I have had several. The good part is that your Cardiologist is there for the test and nearby until you are stable. So, I'm certain they will be ready to address any complications that might arise. While 45 days seems like a long time, in terms of your heart stabilizing it really isn't. It can take 6 months, or even longer before you have achieved maximum recovery from this particular treatment. What does your Cardiologist say about your concerns? I'm thinking you may not have shared your concerns with him. Many times what we fear is much worse than what is actually happening. If you haven't shared your concerns and/or expressed your concerns I suggest you do so asap. If you need to schedule an appointment and go into the office, then do that. You will feel much better once you have the full scope of information direct from your Cardiologist.

I took it.  They take your vital's then inject you with something that makes your heart race for a minute or two, then take you vitals again.  They let me go home after an hour, but after a couple errands, went to the nearest hotel because I was completely tired.  Have someone who can pick you up.

I took the test yesterday. It was exercise, not drug induced heart rate increase test. No order to quit beta blockers so I had to work my butt off to reach low limit for injection. I know why it is called a stress test, a week of stress waiting for results! My cardiologist works a very busy metropolitan cath lab and she actually has little time for patient interaction. I may have spent 5 minutes with her since my MI 75 days ago. Once I have my stress test results I will begin looking for a new doctor. My primary care doc bowed out do to his lack of knowledge/experience. Does Amazon have next day Cardiologists?
