I am 18 months post Triple Bypass. I am still having sharp pains in my chest. I have read an article on being allergic to the wires used on my sternum. I AM allergic to metals. Has anyone else had this problem? I have messaged my cardiologist more than once but not getting an answer. The pain is sharp & doesn't last long, but happens daily.

I only had a stent placed about 4 months ago and I had those sharp pains off and on for about a month and a half. Then they just went away and now just a little pain now and then that feels like someone pressing on a bruis in my chest. I know you had alot more done than I but keep bugging the doc that's what they get paid for. Hope you figure it out and you get some help! Take care

Thanks for your response Eric. I talked with a new *** today, and she is going to talk with the cardiologist to see what they might come up with. She thinks I'm just healing very slowly & will get better. Hurting everyday wears me out. You take care also, it really helps to hear from others.

No problem anytime jan. Just having that chest pain for a few months will mess with your head, it certainly did mine Jan. One thing that did help get my mind in a better place was that CALM app, it really did seam to help refocus my mind instead of focusing on the pain and the what if scenarios. Glad you saw the doc and I hope things start to look up for ya!

Thanks for the advice, I will see about the app you suggested. And yes it does mess with your mind -- all of this does.

I went to my primary care & she contacted my cardiologist - concerning my HBP & sternum pain. Funny, they contacted me immediately .. apparently having an advocate helps to get something done. Had a chest xray - "looks good, no concerns." OK, that's great, but why the pain. "maybe it's the scarring." what exactly does that mean? So I guess I have pain & there are no answers.
She did prescribe a 2nd BP med .. and I start that today ... hoping for a lower BP reading soon, and that I don't have an adverse reaction to the new med - it's amlodopine.
Feeling less anxious about things, that may help in itself, right?
Now just have to deal with the tear in my shoulder, and i'll be good to go. :)

Glad you got in to see someone! Hopefully the new medicine and probably feels really good to have atleast a piece of mind. Now the key is to relax, I know easier said than done my friend. Hang in there and keep us posted. Take care 🙂

Thank you Eric! I think it helped just to hear back that the xray looked good, meaning I am healing. Relax! what is this concept of which you speak? HA
I am now planning my retirement, and it feels good!
