Has anyone ever had their S-ICD removed because of consistent and overall improvement? Just wondering if that is ever an option....

Unfortunately, I'm not a medical professional, so I recommend asking your cardiac care team about this if you haven't yet!

Thank you. I was just curious if anyone has actually had that procedure. Thank you though. :)

I have an S-ICD and my EF improved to the low 40's after being in the low 30's. I asked my electrophysiologist about the removal of my device and he said that devices are only replaced with a different device. He told me there have been no studies conducted relating to "normalized heart failure." Basically, there's not a lot of money for Boston Scientific or whoever made your device to fund studies on "normalized heart failure," so there's no research conducted.
