Checking in on our Members | The Support Network & MyAFIB Experience are here for you

Good morning all,

I wanted to check in to see how everyone is doing?

Please do not hesitate to share what you are feeling; good, bad, scared, angry or on an adrenal rush of anxiety- it's all welcome here.

However, I want to review a few basic guidelines for the Support Network

  • Everyone has differences of opinion as to the severity of our situation.
  • All opinions are respected and valued as they are based on our personal experiences, fears, and concerns.
  • Each member is valuable, and we are here to support each other through whatever is occurring in our lives.
  • If you share a common condition or experience, it is perfectly ok to talk about your experiences and at the same time, the final medical decisions for treatment should be made with the patient in partnership with his/her medical team.

With the flood of information, some accurate and some not, we do ask that if you post articles – please use credible sources such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, World Health Organization, or  AHA-COVID19.
It is also imperative that you provide the source of where your information is coming from. There will be times that we will fact check what is posted to ensure the most current and accurate information is available.

Given the anxiety and uncertainly of these unprecedented times, we urge all of you to use our AHA resources and the entire site, more than 25+ conversation areas to inspire and support each other.

Now more than ever, the concerns can bring us together as a community of survivors and caregivers.

As always, if you have questions, please email me at SupportNetwork@heart.org.

Good morning Katie, Thank you for checking in with us. I'm home alone and it has become very boring. I'm seeing an additional cardiologist who has taken my metroprolol from 25 mg to 100. So I don't even have energy. That was 3 weeks ago. He had me go for a blood test Friday, 3/27. My creatinine & potassium levels are higher then the previous levels of 2 weeks prior. I just emailed him to discuss the blood work and how I'm feeling. What is very depressing is due to the fact I had to leave my job back in May of 2019, I lived off savings until I received disability in December. I'm about to lose my home if 23 years. But I'm staying positive through all that has happened. The virus is scary to me, but we are all in the same boat. I'm 60 years old, I want to go back to work so badly, the doctors are saying not yet, or definitely never working in a warehouse at all. Thank you for letting me vent, stay safe everyone.
