Diagnosed with enlarged heart
I was having pretty strong palpitatations, heart racing and beating without a regular rhythm 3 different nights over the course of 2 weeks. Went to the DR, he did an EKG and said the upper portion of my heart is enlarged. Nothing he needed to send me to the ER for at the moment, but he wants me to do a stress test. Wating to schedule when they call me next week. Needless to say I am really scared about what this means. Heart failure? Heart attack? Death? I am only 40 years old. Had HBP for a few years (150's/110) but now with herbal supplements it's about 135/95. I also have anxiety, high stress, insomnia, Fibromyalgia and I'm overweight. Is there a positive outlook on this? My EKG from last year didn't show this, so I don't know what to think - this isn't what I expected...help please!

Good morning, I am so sorry that this is happening to you. This is a very anxious and scary time and waiting until you get the stress test is going to be hard, but you can do it. Try not to let your imagination run away with you. To answer your question is there a positive outlook on this, the answer is very likely yes. The medical community has made huge strides in treating heart failure, heart attack, high blood pressure, and other conditions that could factor into your diagnosis.
There are also lifestyle changes you can make to help with the anxiety, stress, and weight.
Please know that we are here to help you every step of the way.
