The Smart Searcher: A Guide to Online Medical Advice and the Support Network

Good morning everyone,

I am so excited to see our community growing these last few months. And, I have read some powerful, supportive and educational conversation threads. I do need to provide a reminder that it is imperative to the safety of all our community that members refrain from giving medical advice. Sharing a personal survivor story or offering discussion points for members to ask their personal medical team are great examples of how this community can support one another.

To ensure that you are receiving the best information, this article, the Smart Searcher: a guide to Online Medical Advice could be a helpful read.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Yes.  It''s important to listen to your doctors, but ask questions and research, talking to other patients.  We need to be our own advocates, but we'really not doctors.  So learn and grow.  😎

DolphinWrite, I could not agree more. At the end of the day, what is happening to us as patients is something we have to own and manage.  Its our job to keep asking questions, defining answers and seeking information at each step of the patient journey. Have a great Friday, Katie
