Hi Joe- I had to wear a monitor and they found I had afib. I was terrified at the time of the whole process--tests, monitor, etc. But really they were just gathering all the info so they could make me better in the best way. I am now on a medication that slows my heart so it doesn't have afib. The cardiologist did have to try 3 different meds until we found the right one that worked for me. I also had a pacemaker put in, which sounds scary, but really is a piece of cake. It was put in at a hospital. I was in "twilight sleep" and felt nothing, and went home the same day. It doesn't bother me at all, and I am doing quite well. AS I look back on it all, I wonder why I was so terrified. I know how you feel. It's wonderful what medicine can do now to keep us healthy. You are not alone. There's a lot of us out there in similar situations. When questions come up ,post them, and there is probably someone out there that can be helpful. Take care . I'll remember you in my prayers tonight. Love, Jeanne
