Heart block and now afib

I've been away awhile - first joined a few years ago when I was diagnosed with a 2nd degree heart block.  I have had PVC's since I was in my 30's and would have multiple PVC's after jogging and had alot of testing done, but the doc's said everything was benign. The PVC's were part of my life for years. Then in 2016, I experienced difficulty breathing after runs of irregular heart rate and then slow heart rate (30-40) and was diagnosed with the 2nd degree heart block and had a pacemaker inserted in 2017.  Now in my 70's, I still have the pvc's but I am now dealing with Afib (for a few years just a short afib here & there). Since I only have had mild symptoms, and short runs of afib, my recent changes were picked up on my pacemaker report.  And my symptoms were similar to the ones I've had for years, so i was surprised with the diagnosis. My recent report  showed serveral hours of continuous afib so my cardiologist started me on Xarelto. I feel pretty good physically, but now with the more dramatic afib,  I do feel a bit unsettled with the diagnosis. So looking for others who feel the same way.  I am encouraged that others are sharing so I know I am not alone and hope to get more comfortable with my diagnosis.  Another thing is that I have been an Advance Practice Nurse as a career, but my Masters was in maternity care of moms and babies and not older folks with heart problems like myself. So I am learning about all of this along with so many others who have gotten a similar diagnosis.
