Afib Newbie
Hello, I am a 57 year old male. 6’4”, 250 lbs. my first afib episode was 3 years ago. Went on Eliquis before a cardioversion. 2 years to my next episode. Recognized it and was cardioverted right away. Same 4 months later and again 4 months later(last week). My afib doesn’t raise my heart rate, just goes wonky and as soon as I go up the stairs I know it’s back. I have had a strange sensation in my chest for several years. Sometimes more than others , but didn’t know what it was. I was taking my pulse when one of the sensations hit and my heart skipped, do now I finally know. Anyway, I feel a little (a lot) anxious about perhaps having an early demise. My echo is normal according to my EP, but I see a few things that worry me. My E/A is 0.72. EF is 57%. Was 67% in Afib three years ago. Should it drop that much? I fear my heart will stop and I fear my heart is aging faster than the rest of me. Anyone have similar histories or any words of wisdom. Thanks!
