Sometimes it's just not the heart

Just got released from the hospital from passing out finding myself on the floor surprised I was there. Thankfully, I only had bruises. But I belly crawled to a phone and called 911. I had experienced 5 days of a bad painful cough, and a bad fever, and really painful all over. At the hospital, I tested positive for the flu. Due to my cardiac problems, a cardiologist came in and ordered an echo, as well as those wonderful 4am blood tests. I also had my pacemaker interrogated twice. What fun. In the end, my heart was functioning fine. I was just really sick. They found an UTI too. No sumptoms for that one. My own cardiologist says I passed out because I was dehydrated. I had continued to take a dieuretic, ever the optimist and muddling through. Wrong. Very wrong. So, if you get really sick, don't do what we do as cardiac patients. Get checked. Lesson Learned. Very graterful to be home now. PS. Yes, I did have the "senior" very powerful flu shot. smile

Glad to hear your heart is good and you are on the mend. Thanks for the advice we all should take!
