How do you deal with negative emotions from past painful experiences that have really hurt you?
I have been struggling to let go of negative emotions that have surfaced from past bad experiences I have had- to the point I find myself venting out loud to myself as I re-visit those experiences.
I am working on applying an approach I have come across on an article that is helping which I found on https://www.justpauseonline.com/post/b-i-t-c-h and it is helping.
How do you deal with negative emotions from past painful experiences that have really hurt you? How do you avoid allowing those emotions to impact your peace and happiness in the present?

I too have been guilty of this. As I get older, I realize more and more the importance of not letting things I can't control become a problem. I recognize the importance of looking forward instead of looking at my past which I can not change anyway. Life is short. If nothing else, this has been the one thing I have learned most from having heart surgery. It's so important to enjoy your life as much as you can, This doesn't mean traveling the world or engaging in some high adventure but just the little things such as laughing more and spending more time with family and friends. We just have to make a conscience effort not to let our past affect our present.
