Baby its COLD Outside!
My aunt shared this photo of her backyard in N.C. this morning. She is a mall walker on cold winter days. However, she will stay home today while they plow and manage the roads. But I am curious, how do you stay warm and still get exercise in the winter? Thanks Katie

Good topic and a question I've been asked before. Wasn't that long ago that I'd run through the winter months regardless of the temperature. That's changed within the past few years. A few years ago, I was running one morning in single digit temps and after about two miles, I decided it was just too d**n cold! Since then, when the temperature dips well below twenty, I work out indoors on my eliptical machine. Today it was 24 degrees and I threw on a couple of layers and a ski cap. Once the running progresses, my body warms up pretty well. Weight training is done indoors so that's obviously not an issue. This is an important component to exercise and heart health so that in itself could help as an alternative to combating the cold.
