Transposition of the Greater Vessels
Hi I had the OH Mustard procedure done at 8 months old. I never had the secondary surgery and never had any heart issues. This past March I was in heart block and had a pacemaker implanted then in September I was diagnosed with heart failure. I'm looking to see if there is anyone out there that had the OH Mustard and not the secondary. Been having a lot of complications with the heart failure and am looking to talk to someone with my specific congenital defect.

I am so sorry that you are having to experience this. I want to help research this for you, but need to ask a question. Is Transposition of the greater vessels the same as transposition of the great arteries? If so, then this article might help Transposition of the Great Arteries. It starts with information for the parents of children with this condition and then flows into adults living with this as well. Then depending on how comfortable you are reading research abstracts, I found this -Long term outcome up to 30 years after the Mustard or Senning operation: a nationwide multicentre study in Belgium on the National Library of Medicine's website. Please know that even though many of us do not have your specific condition, we are here for you and want to support you. Best Katie
