WARNING re ARBs & NSAIDS

For a long time I was taking an ARB called Benicar 40 mg (olmesartan medoximil).  None of my docs ever mentioned to me that this med was incompatible with NSAIDS--aspirin, ibuprofen, etc.

As a result, I developed chronic kidney disease because over a period of weeks I was taking a modest daily dose (400--600 mg) of ibuprofen!!

I have not investigated whether NSAIDs are incompatible with other forms of this med. e.g. valsartan, but if you are taking an ARB (angiotensin response blocker), you should do your own investigation.
