labile hypertension

I just been diagnosed with liable bp.  I see my cardiologist next month for a tele tv conference to monitor my heart and get a continuous bp monitor.  I hear this is very dangerous because of the ups and downs in the readings.  I can be at 169/93 and fifteen minutes later 121/70.  I take 50 mg Metoprolol (they raised me up a few years ago from 25mg)  They also added Metroprolol tar 25 when bp would go above 150.  Only had to take that a few times until stress hit me big time a few months ago.  I now take 25tar in the morning, the 50 midday, and another 25 at night since the numbers are so extreme.  I am a 73 year old senior who golfs, does 45 minutes of zumba on cloudy days, and power walks 45 minutes in good weather.  I never smoked, drink one glass of red wine when out with friends for dinner, try to follow the Mediterrean diet as much as i can.  Anyone here have this condition and what are my chances for having a heart attack or stroke because of this?  Thanks

    Good afternoon,

Thank you for sharing your story with the support network. I hope that you will be able to connect with others on here who have had similar experiences and will be able to provide insight into how they're managing their own high blood pressure. I would also recommend that you raise these concerns with your physician as they know more about your medical history. While you wait for others to respond, I can share some resources from AHA on High Blood Pressure. Please keep us updated on how you're doing!

    Best wishes,
