Kidney transplant patient - now heart valve problem
Before 1 year, we did kidney transplantation for my father who is 72 years old. He is recovering from the major surgery. Now, our cardiologist noticed that heart valves are getting bleeding. Our Nephrologist advice not to do surgery now but cardiologist are advicing to go with Surgery. We are really in big dilemma. We don't know which parameters are very important on the heart Echo which decides that. Also, he is able to walk 6000 steps per day, able to eat properly but durning night he can't able to sleep for 1 -2 hours and then after urine discharge for few times, he is able to sleep properly. Anybody have come across similiar situation, please share your thoughts.. thank you

I’m so glad you’ve found our community and that you’ve reached out. I'm so sorry to hear about this dilema with your father. That is very difficult when your care team has diferring opinions. This article on getting second opinions may be helpful: https://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/consumer-healthcare/doctor-appointments-questions-to-ask-your-doctor/getting-a-second-medical-opinion#.V_-I_vkrLIU I hope other members will chime in if they have been in a similar situation!
