BP Fluctuations

Hi...sometimes I take my BP and it's 170/100, then 5 mins later it's normal!  Should I sit for a bit instead of rising, going to the table and taking it immediately?

Yes. You want to relax for a few minutes before you take your BP. You certainly want to avoid any exercise before immeditely taking it.

I often get spikes and feel awful (headache, blurred vision, etc.), but by the time I get to my doctor's office or ER it's back to normal.  They do a CT and bloodwork and find nothing.  Why is this happening?  I'm very worried that a stroke or HA is immenient.  I already take 4 meds (Irbesartan, HCTZ, Atenolol and Norvasc - just started the last one).  I'm 58, overweight, female and terrified which is probably not helping.

I am scheduled to do a 24 hr urine determine if I'm have a couple different things going on that may be causing my symptoms.

Perhaps it is anxiety since it's only temporary but I'm just guessing. These are questions you need to ask your doctor as I am not a qualified medical professional.

Any hormonal or migraine problems? Best let the doctor sort it out, good luck.
