Alternatives to Bisoprolol Fumarate (Beta-Blocker)? or Natural Alternatives?

Hi, I am new to this board. About 2 years ago, I was put on 3.75mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (Beta-Blocker) due to a slight increased heart rate/blood pressure at the time, especially after a large meal, I collapsed/fainted which was because of a 'Carbohydrate dump" but as my heart rate was quite fast, as a precaution I was put on Bisoprolol Fumarate (Beta-Blocker).

I did have a heart monitor for 24 hours, and there was nothing out of the ordinary.

Now after taking Bisoprolol Fumarate daily, i think there maybe a side effect (EoE) which now ties in with me starting this medication. So I am looking at asking my GP to come off these.

Does anyone know of an alternative to Bisoprolol? Or even better, a natural way to keep a lower blood pressure?

I should point out that when I miss a day taking Bisoprolol, i can sort of 'feel' it, and feel my heart is pumping slightly harder? and secondly by the afternoon I feel really tired without it... and also I don't know whether my eyes were more bloodshot?

Now I don't know if these are effects of not taking this, but just would like any advice on stopping Bisoprolol and not feeling tired etc?

Good morning, I think you are definitely headed in the right direction by asking questions and learning more about the drugs and side effects. The first place I would start is determining where you are in the healthy living scale and managing HBP. We have a great many patient ed resources that can help you determine this and make lifestyle changes. These steps, combined with a conversation with your doctor sounds like a great first step.

Please let me know if I can research more information or help you in any way. Best Katie

Thank you AHAASAKatie - I think my question would still be do you know of an alternative to Bisoprolol? Or even better, a natural way to keep a lower blood pressure?
