Close to one million Americans live with a condition called Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy or ATTR-CM, yet it’s often misdiagnosed as heart failure and in certain cases not treated soon enough.
When patients present with preserved ejection fraction and no clear cause, it’s time to consider ATTR-CM with your doctor or loved ones. The symptoms can be similar to heart failure, but ATTR-CM has a different prognosis and requires unique management strategies for each patient.
